shorthop.app lets you search, preview, and bulk-download Statcast video clips straight from Baseball Savant.

Quick Start

Search for a player by name, or paste a Baseball Savant Statcast Search URL directly into the search bar.
Pick one or more seasons (defaults to 2025) and game types.
Choose Batting or Pitching — the checkboxes swap to match.
Check the PA results you want. The search URL builds automatically.
Hit Search, then select clips and Download Selected.

Player Search

Type any current or historical player name and press Search Player. The tool shows their headshot, position, team, and links to Savant, MLB, Baseball Reference, Fangraphs, and Roster Resource.

Game Log

After selecting a player, expand the Game Log section to view their batting or pitching log for any season. Click any row to load that game's video clips directly into the search results.

Seasons & Game Types

Select one or more seasons (2015 – present). Choose which game types to include — Regular Season is checked by default. Options include Postseason, Wildcard, Division Series, League Championship, World Series, Spring Training, and All-Star games.

Batting vs Pitching

The PA result checkboxes change depending on your selection:

Batting — Organized hits-first: Single, Double, Triple, Home Run, Walk, IBB, HBP, then outs like Strikeout, Field Out, GIDP, and more.
Pitching — Organized outs-first: Strikeout, K DP, Field Out, Force Out, GIDP, Double Play, then hits/walks allowed.

Pitch Metrics (Pitching only) — Optionally filter by 100+ MPH, 12"+ vertical break, or 12"+ horizontal break.

Download Options

Broadcast — Choose Home or Away camera feed.
Max videos — Set a limit, or leave at 0 for all results.
Combine into one video COMING SOON — Will merge all selected clips into a single file.

Downloading

After searching, a table of video clips appears. Use the checkboxes to pick individual clips, or click Select All / Select None. Then hit Download Selected. A progress bar tracks the download, and when finished the Save to Computer button will appear.

Tip: You can paste any valid Baseball Savant Statcast Search URL directly — you don't have to use the Player Search. Just copy the URL from Savant, paste it in, and click Search.
